When we opened in 1967 we made one part – a replacement valve guide for Continental engines. It was a simple part, but it was made with exceptional care and quality. Superior’s valve guide was equal to, and probably better than, the original part it replaced. And it cost a lot less.
Today, Superior Air Parts is the leader in the FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) business. We design and produce over 2,000 different parts under the FAA-PMA approval process. Each is painstakingly manufactured from the latest materials using the most modern production processes available. These aren’t just replacement parts they are very often, improved parts.
The hallmark of our vision to make the best products possible is the Millennium Cylinder family. With well over 100,000 Millenniums currently in service around the world, they are by far the most popular and trusted aftermarket cylinders in all of general aviation.
Once you have all the best parts, the next logical step is to make a better performing engine. We took the idea a bit further by developing two different engine families: The experimental XP-Engine Series created for the homebuilt and sport aircraft market, and the 180-horsepower Vantage Engine – the first new four-cylinder piston engine certified by the FAA in nearly 50-years – created for FAA Certified aircraft.
Like each of the 2,000-plus parts and components we build, both of our engines offer the best combination of quality, reliability and value in their respective categories. But, when you look back at our history that’s no surprise. That’s the way we’ve done it since day one.
